The History of the Tippmann Alpha Black

With adjectives such as intimidating, professional, deadly accurate, formidable and built like a rock, descriptions of the Tippmann Alpha Black tend toward the hyperbole. But though those unschooled in the paintball marker industry may shake their head at superlatives hurled about the Tippmann Alpha Black the marker has earned its fawning reputation backing up all those words with increased sales of the first product marketed through Tippmann’s partnership with the United States Army.

Tippmann Alpha Black Derives from Military History

When David Tippmann Sr., started his paintball manufacturing company in the 1980s he did so reluctantly. The military weapons buff built his Tippmann Arms Company by creating realistic .22 caliber machine gun replicas. The Tippmanns were in the gun business and saw paintball as a passing fad. But in 1986, shortly after it began to get more complicated to create and transport gun replicas David Tippmann Sr., turned to the fledging paintball industry as a savior. Thinking paintball was not going to last throughout the decade the Tippmanns did not see their foray into the paintball marker industry as revolutionary but decided to make a go of it anyway. The Tippmanns were dedicated to providing affordable yet durable markers that would offer paintball players high-performance. With this promise Tippmanns began manufacturing markers that were previously unheard of in the industry. These markers closely simulated in look and feel the gun replicas Tippmann was adept at creating which of course emulated the military weapons they were made to look like. With their close military ties and history it is no wonder that the Tippmann paintball markers so closely resembled the high-powered rifles used by the nation’s military personnel. This military progeny lead to the production of the Tippmann Alpha Black.

Tippmann Alpha Black More than Just Good Looks

Regardless of its eerie similarities to the actual M16 rifle, the Tippmann Alpha Black is a revolutionary paintball marker in its own right. Yes it looks intimidating, from a distance it looks like a long-range rifle and yes it looks professional but looks aside the marker’s popularity lies in its performance and in its price. Though there are cheap markers on the market these markers are often made of cheap materials and need replacing more often than not. Not the Tippmann Alpha Black. This affordable marker is made of durable materials that allow the paintball participant to submit it to repeated use and know that it will be ready to shoot at will.
